OpenStudy (factor):

How do i proove one quadrilateral is another quadrilateral also...pls give me th eproperties used in proving another quad.......for eg: proove tht a square is also a rectangle @Hesan

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

Oooh... proving... Now, what are the properties that define a rectangle?

OpenStudy (factor):

okay i dont want to solve the example.cuz i knw.pls help me by saying how to do it for all quadrilaterals

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

The example cannot be proved (simply because it's false, a rectangle need not be a square). So perhaps you have another example? Your original question, perhaps?

OpenStudy (factor):

no there are thousans of question like tht in tht lesson i just wanna knw all the basics.like a para ia also arhombus a rectangle and stuff like tht i would also like to knw all the properties of all quad plss help @terenzreignz

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

Parallelogram is also a rhombus? False! LOL The only general guideline I guess is to know ALL the definitions.

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

That's unless you can present a specific example... in which case, I can demonstrate :D

OpenStudy (factor):

screw u mann i knw paralellogram is aspere ..it is also a square a rectangle etc

OpenStudy (factor):

screw u is only a sarcasm

OpenStudy (factor):

@terenzreignz cmon stop givin false info and gimme correct info

OpenStudy (factor):

@Preetha

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

Pardon? I don't give false information when mathematics is concerned...

OpenStudy (factor):

just kidding SARCASM

OpenStudy (factor):

nw say me hw i do it

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

Like I said, the only general guideline is to be acquainted with definitions. I mean REALLY acquainted. We can only go further if you present a SPECIFIC proving question that we can work on together, that way, I can thoroughly demonstrate a technique on proving. (Emphasis on *a* technique, and note that it is not *the* technique, as there are many ways to prove)

OpenStudy (factor):

okay atleast give me properties of all quadrilaterals

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

Quadrilateral means one thing and one thing only: A polygon with exactly four sides.

OpenStudy (factor):

okay i mean all shapes

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

Let me start again:

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

With the definition of a Quadrilateral on the table, let's define a few special ones.

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

A trapezoid is a quadrilateral with EXACTLY one pair of parallel sides.

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

A parallelogram is a quadrilateral with two pairs of parallel sides.

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

Now with the definition of a PARALLELOGRAM on the table, let's have a few special ones:

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

A rectangle is a parallelogram with all four internal angles congruent. (Consequently, all four said angles must be right angles.)

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

A rhombus is a parallelogram with all four sides congruent.

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

A square is a parallelogram with all four internal angles congruent, as well as all four sides. Thus, a square falls under both rectangle and rhombus.
