how many more what

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Adaptive radiation. Convergent evolution refers to life forms becoming more and more similar due to being in a particular environment - Darwin's finches are an example of divergent evolution. Interbreeding and random mating did not result in speciation of the finches - the finches gradually spread to different islands and developed different beak shapes according to the food sources available. So adaptive radiation is the term you're looking for. Source : http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20110317174513AAyaOm1
