please help :)

@dalia_lam

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it's C, because the slope of the graph is -4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank for the answer @dalia_lam :D

OpenStudy (triciaal):

rate of change is the change in y/ corresponding change in x y2 -y1 / x2 - x1 where you have points (x1,y1) and (x2, y2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you both @dalia_lam & @triciaal :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got another question @dalia_lam & @triciaal :)

OpenStudy (triciaal):

post it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sure :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (triciaal):

one approach y = mx + b choose any 2 630 = m(45) + b 390 =m(15 + b you have 2 eqn 2 unknown subtract 630-390 = 45m-15m =30 m 240/30 = 8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(15,390) (30,510) 510-390=120 30-15=15 120/15=8 =>slope y=8x+b 630=8(45)+b 630=360+b 270=b y=8x+270

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks for the equation :) now i understand :)

OpenStudy (triciaal):

find b the intercept the base price

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you talking to me? @triciaal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is the real answer? i'm confused :?

OpenStudy (triciaal):

yes 8 is the slope the question is to find the base rental price in the eqn that's the intercept so use one of the eqn and replace m with 8 and find b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so A is the answer?

OpenStudy (triciaal):

the answer either way is $270

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay the answer is D, thanks both @dalia_lam & @triciaal :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I wish I could medal both of you... :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok that's all the question I have :)

OpenStudy (triciaal):

the slope is the rate of change = m = 8 the question asked for the intercept b

OpenStudy (triciaal):

welcome
