Arrange the following polynomial into descending order and identify the 3rd term. 18x + 2x3 − 3x2 + 10

OpenStudy (austinl):

Highest exponents on the left, get smaller as you go right, ending in numbers.

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

\(\bf 18x + 2x^{\color{red}{3}} - 3x^{\color{red}{ 2}} + 10\implies 18x^{\color{red}{ 1}} + 2x^{\color{red}{3}} - 3x^{\color{red}{ 2}} + 10\)

OpenStudy (austinl):

jdoe... isn't that ascending order?

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

ohh ahemm... well. is not.. is in no order really =) just pointing out what the "order" means

OpenStudy (austinl):

True.... ascending would start that sequence with the 10 on the left :P
