Dorian has two bags. Each bag has the letters A, B, and C written on little pieces of paper inside of it. He draws one letter from each bag. What is the probability that he draws out a vowel and a consonant? https://media.studyisland.com/pics/131712bags1.png 1/2 2/9 5/9 4/9

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

The general formula for combinations with repetition is: \(\dfrac{(n+r-1)!}{r!(n-1)!}\)

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so would it be d

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Oh, this might be a simpler one. A 1 in 3 for a vowel and a 2 in 3 for a consonant. Then multiply them because both have to come up.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):
