What RULE do you use, after viewing two similar triangles, to set up a proportion ? The RULE to do this involves the following steps: 1. Ensure the two triangles are similar: they have corresponding equal angles although their sides are not equal in length. 2. Draw the similar triangles side by side so their corresponding angles would match up if we slid one of the triangles to the left/right. See "The Drawing". |dw:1393122182511:dw| 3. Set up a proportion. The one for "The Drawing" is X/x =Y/y.
