Discuss the differences between bytes, RAM, and ROM.
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20061117100059AAilkzg Check this link out im just to lazy to explain all that stuff sorry, if u need a better explanation, just leave me a text i will reply as soon as i can. and dont forget to give me a medal lol
i need a more detailed answer.
Well in other words is that ROM is just read only memory so u cant change anything with it because its permanent, while RAM is different once you shut down your computer or some machine all the memory will be erased or it will disappear.and bytes are just pieces of memory or more like a memory measurement system like normal numbers but a bit different, there practically is no limit to how much information you can store in them, and the memory doesn't disappear somewhere by itself you have to erase it your self.
do you need anymore explanation?
well in other words bytes is like the structure of computer or mechanical memory.
A byte is a unit of digital information that contains 8 bits. Bits are like switches. They represent one of two numbers, 0 or 1. They can be on or off. They are the absolute smallest scale of what software is built off of. Bytes are the second smallest. ROM Is Read Only Memory, hence the name, memory that can be viewed but never changed or deleted. RAM is Random Access Memory, a sort of temporary storage space for computers to use. Take for example, having an Internet Explorer window open. RAM is needed to remind the computer whether or not that window is open. Storing temporary data such as that on a hard drive is possible, but not as fast. That's called virtual RAM.
Hope this helped.
