Need help please try to explain and breakdown i will fan and medal Carrie found a stone in the shape of a 30°–60°–90° triangle. The hypotenuse has a length of 5 cm. What is the length of the shorter leg? A. 2.5 cm B. 2.9 cm C. 3.5 cm D. 10.0 cm
brb
ok :o
Well in ALL 30°–60°–90° triangles the ratio is \[1,2,\sqrt{3}\]
So the short leg should just be 5/2 cm or 2.5
This is helpful and also very interesting to look at: http://www.mathopenref.com/triangle306090.html You can drag and see an actual triangle change.
so tecnically im just adding the sides?
Not necessarily, the short leg will always be half of the hypotenuse (the longest), and the other leg will always be \[\sqrt{3}\]
Sorry i closed the question i have liek 2 more questions and ive been on this computer all day i really wunt a break haha
im sorry im just super duper bad at math and grammer ;/
So if the hypotenuse of a 30°–60°–90° triangle is 20, the short leg is half, which is?
30 right?
