2. What did Robert Hooke look at in 1665 that began our understanding of cells?

Robert Hooke looked at a sliver of cork through a microscope lens and noticed some "pores" or "cells" in it

And then in 1674, he visited van Leeuwenhoek and they both explored the world of microorganisms :) van Leeuwenhoek called them little animalcules ^^ just as a side note :) anyway, @Barrelracer011 is right :)

Lol.. you're welcome :) It's just that, that small story really fascinates me with the two "buddies" exploring the newly crafted lenses and discovering the world of microorganisms.. for the first time .. really WOW ^^
