Answer this for me, Please and Thank you!!!! >.< Rachel is baking a cake but does not know if she wants to bake a round or a square cake. Which cake has a larger area, a round 8-inch cake or a square 9-inch cake? How much larger is it? HINT: Find the area of each cake. For the Square, remember that the Area is the length of a side x the length of a side. For a round case, remember that Area is pi * radius squared. The radius will be 4 inches because the cake is 8 inches wide. Use 3.14 for pi. Find each area, determine which is bigger and then subtract the smaller from the larger to find how much bigger.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

• The area of the square cake is larger by about 31 in.2 • The area of the round cake is larger by about 11 in.2 • The area of the square cake is larger by about 11 in.2

The area of the square cake is going to be 9*9 The area of the round cake is going to be\[\pi*4^{2}\] Can you take it from there?

A B or C?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is 9x9 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

81

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A B or C?????

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm.....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And \[\pi * 4^{2}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And what is? *

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do i pi * 4???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4 squared, so pi * 16

OpenStudy (anonymous):

....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A B or C?????

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3.14 x 16 would be 50.2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

80-50.2 is about 30

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh. A because it is closer to 30 right?
