want to chat and share in a blackboard room. But, I do not know how to set a room up. can someone help me?
I don't know either. As far as I know you can't set up a blackboard room in openstudy. But there are lots of websites that do provide that functionality.
ok thanks @thomaster
Nope - why would you want a blackboard room when you have OpenStudy????
LoL I just thought that it would be fun for the students to be able to work out problems on a board and use the mic I just thought it would be fun
@orion92898
idk 'bout anything tecnical. Sorry. >.<
it is fine :)
would love to help but dont know how to do that
On OpenStudy, we: -interact on questions in virtual real time -may post equations using the Equation tool (LaTeX) -may post simple illustrations using the Draw tool -attach files that may be viewed immediately or have to be downloaded All these are meant to simulate interaction between a tutors and students, perhaps in an open, virtual classroom. That being said, what could be simulated more realistically is the black(white?)board in said classroom. Yes, we can post illustrations, but only by turns. It would have an (arguably) better feel to it if illustrations were visible to the other party nigh-immediately, in real time, as if it were being drawn in a classroom board, not to mention possibly eliminate the need for multiple posts that only show the same illustration with minor alterations.
Some people might have an easier time putting up even equations using just the draw option, or by just drawing it, in general, as it is faster (sacrificing only clarity) and having a live-board option would enhance that use of the feature. ^Having said all of those, a live board isn't strictly a necessity, but it IS a convenience. I've helped about a handful of users (probably no longer here, meh) who linked me to a dedicated live-board site. It gets the job done, I suppose. Perhaps it might be a more feasible and efficient option (the live board, among many other ideas for the site) if the site had more members to begin with, particularly those with questions involving illustrations, for instance, geometry, or graphing. So... perhaps step one in achieving what I call "dream enhancements" on OS is to first encourage more users to the site. The more the merrier ^_^ Cheers :D -TJ PS: The site I used for a live board back in the day :3 http://cosketch.com/
Yea cosketch is great :) A function like that in OpenStudy would be awesome, but there should be some restrictions too. For example it should be a private whiteboard so no trolls can interfere. Users can invite other users and no-one else can enter (With the exception that there should be a list of active whiteboards for mods to monitor in case of cheat sessions).
yea would be awesome
Jenna, if you have a blackboard site, it is easy enough to add an OpenStudy access to the site. Email me at contact@openstudy.com and I'll send you the javascript.
I have a Java I do I have like a java for my school it is blackboard and we use Java
@Preetha I sent you a message can u take a look at it?
@jennaknight03 Do you mean the blackboard system that is used in many school? ( blackboard.com ) I think Preetha means integrate an OpenStudy widget javascript in a website so that questions of a specific subject will be shown on a site. Example: http://widget.openstudy.com/widget/feed:join-study-group?version=feed%3Ajoin-study-group&widgetType=feed&buttonType=join-study-group&refDomain=ocw.mit.edu&studygroupName=mit+9.00sc+introduction+to+psychology&color=&sessionId=53174788e4b0a72af633254c
