What is the first step to show that two lines are perpendicular, by looking at the equations of the lines, if they are written in standard form?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If they both have the same slope, they will be perpendicular. If it's in standard form(y = mx + b) then look for "m" which is slope, if "m" is the same for both equations then the two equations will be perpendicular. You can click "Best Response" to give medals.
