how would it be possible for an object to be traveling with a constant speed and still accelerating?

OpenStudy (roadjester):

If they move in a circle.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i'm not sure but i think when an object travels in a uniform circular motion, it is possible to have a constant speed, but since the direction is changing, it accelerates..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, those guys are right. It is called centripetal acceleration and for an example if you turned a bicycle wheel with a constant speed, there would still be centripetal acceleration at the rim where each point is changing direction constantly.

everybody here get the idea...right
