How do I write the complete factored form of f(x) given its zeros?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The problem is: f(x)=2(x^2)-15x+28, zeros are (7/2) and 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Would it be (x-(7/2))(x-4)?

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

\(x=\frac{7}{2} \implies2x=7\implies 2x-7=0 \) so you have \((2x-7)(x-4)\)

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

similarly \(x=4 \implies x-4 = 0\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, that makes a lot of sense. If I make another question in a bit do you think you may be able to pop in to help?

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

sure

Thanks a bunch! See you in a bit
