Given the linear equation x+y=5, find the slope of its graph.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Slope is defined as mx right? But first you need to get x on the other side so y is alone.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@seehearcreate how do i make y alone. subtract x from both sides?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yees

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yep! and then you find slope by the equation y=mx+b where m is the slope and b crosses y. Be careful, if m is not fraction, you simply have the number over one ie. 6 is is 6/1
