If the point (1, 3) is on the graph of y = f(x), then what is the corresponding point on the graph of y = −2f(x)?

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

If the transformed graph is \(y = -2f(x)\), take your y-coordinate from the first graph, multiply it by -2, and that's your new y-coordinate. The x-coordinate remains the same.

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

The original point's coordinates are \((x, f(x))\), so the transformed point's coordinates will be \((x,-2f(x))\).
