OpenStudy (beccaboo333):

Is there a way we can have designated users or a post that stays active in every subject to explain the rules? It can be a little annoying at times when seeing off topic posts, or just random posts being made.

OpenStudy (beccaboo333):

I wouldn't mind if there were certain users who were asked kindly to make a post explaining the rules daily.

OpenStudy (blues):

The mods do from time to time. There have been suggestions for a notice board at the top of the screen for such needed and obvious posts, but this has obviously not been implemented yet.

OpenStudy (blues):

It sure looks like it.

OpenStudy (beccaboo333):

Hopefully things are implied more often :/

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Moderators and Ambassadors are supposed to help users. We are the 'designed' users you're talking about.

OpenStudy (beccaboo333):

Well I'm not trying to be rude, it's just I've seen a lot more misuse lately.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I agree with beccaboo, there have been more and more math questions in the OS section.

OpenStudy (mathlegend):

The new people just see that the math section is the most active. If there was a way to get more help in other sections like the sciences, history, english etc... I wish I could help in those sections... but I am only suited for math. :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Of course MathLegend only does math(Hints the name). I still agree that people only post there because they will otherwise not get help fast enough, or ever at all if they post in a subject that gets low traffic. People that know about these 'minority' subjects should check in on them every once and a while to see if they can help. While math is a subject that most people have trouble with(that's why it's the busiest), people also need help with other things. It's not fair if they don't get help too. OS is a place for all people to study, no matter what subject they need help with. So I do agree with MathLegend about why they post there. I have even been guilty of posting Biology there, but I needed help.

OpenStudy (beccaboo333):

Well, @poopsiedoodle always has the Music rules posted.. I'm just thinking maybe the rules can be implied more. Or just have a post that ALWAYS has the rules explained in that designated section.

thomaster (thomaster):

Sticky posts yea, they should implement that for mods and perhaps ambassadors to post announcements and stuff. Maybe they could put a fixed warning message under the question box indicating that they should only post [math] questions here (in big letters). Many new users don't know that we have different groups for different subjects so it's usually a misunderstanding when someone posts a biology questions in math and vice versa. @MathLegend They should make a function where you could indicate that you wish to receive a notification if a new question was posted in a specific section of your interest.

OpenStudy (beccaboo333):

I feel like that would be a good idea.. Just to have a reminder. Or like when you first join a pop up notice explaining the rules. Then it goes away~ But it's not just mixed questions in places. It's straight up misuse. The other day I saw something claiming a post was allowed because it talked about the subject completely. It was all off topic as well as having nothing educational or learning happening. It's posts like these that bother me the most. This is what I feel rules should be implied more on. Yeah people can make posts in the wrong section, but eventually they learn not to, or it was truly an honest mistake and they close it once they realized it. I can understand the people who are continuously doing it, then they need the rules implied more. Otherwise it's not top big of a deal on that. If any of this makes sense..
