Question in image below: Graphing points given/given in a table.
Ok the y intercept is when x =0 So looking at f(x) we see in the chart that when x=0 then y=4 Now with g(x) they tell us that the y-intercept is -6 Now the x intercept is when y=0 Looking at the chart we see that the x-intercept of f(x) is -1 Now in order to find the x-intercept of g(x) we need to set up an equation of a line We know that an equation of a line has the form y=mx+b where is the slope and b is the y intercept We are given that information for g(x) where m=-6 and b=-6 So y=-6b-6 Now in order to find the x-intercept we plug in y=0 0=-6b-6 6=-6b b=-1 So the x-intercept is -1 Given all this information choose the option that is true
OK, well I know they can't be equal since neither 4 nor -1 is equal to -6.
Ayeee your mixing things up
Lets keep the x-intercepts and y intercepts separate
What are the 2 y-intercepts?
Read what i wrote above
The 2 y-int. are -6 & 4. And the x-int. are -6 & -1.
Ok you got the y-intercepts right Re read this paragraph for the x-intercepts Now the x intercept is when y=0 #1)Looking at the chart we see that the x-intercept of f(x) is -1 #2)Now in order to find the x-intercept of g(x) we need to set up an equation of a line We know that an equation of a line has the form y=mx+b where is the slope and b is the y intercept We are given that information for g(x) where m=-6 and b=-6 So y=-6b-6 Now in order to find the x-intercept we plug in y=0 0=-6b-6 6=-6b b=-1 So the x-intercept is -1
Openstudy is lagging like crazy .....
OOOOH! I mis-read the question. -6 is the slope!!! ^^;;; So they both have an x int. of -1.
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
