sequences and series question. Please Help asap!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which represents the series in the expanded form:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A. 1+2+3+4+5 B.2+4+6+8+10 C. 2+3+4+5 D.2+3+4+5+6

myininaya (myininaya):

so that bottom number says to start at j=1 so you evaluate the expression to the side of the sigma from j=1 to j=5 (because this is the number on top it tells you where to start) One you have evaluated the expression 2j from j=1 to j=5 and put a plus sign between each you have your expansion

myininaya (myininaya):

plug in 1 for j in 2j plug in 2 for j in 2j plug in 3 for j in 2j plug in 4 for j in 2j plug in 5 for j in 2j put a plus sign between each of these evaluations

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in between the 1,2,3,4,5?

myininaya (myininaya):

no in between each of the expressions I told you to evaluate

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay

myininaya (myininaya):

example \[\sum_{i=2}^{4}(3i-1)=(3*2-1)+(3*3-1)+(3*4-1)\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2+4+6+8+10

myininaya (myininaya):

yep that is it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks so much:)
