MEDALS WILL BE GIVEN! Can someone please explain to me what a "mechanical converter" is. I have looked everywhere for a definition but to no avail.
I am not sure, but will give this a shot. My best guess would be a machine that is able to convert mechanical energy into another form, such as electrical. E.g. Generator, or for the reverse operation, a motor. I would assume the label of mechanical converter should work for both processes, but don't know :P What do you think? I honestly searched for a definition as well but didn't find anything. Brainstorming may help.
It all goes around AC alternate current and phase shift between voltage and current. As one may hang any kind of charge, resistive or inductive or capacitive ones to a transformer, one never know in advance which power it will deliver. The only statement one can do is how many volts the transformer supports (insulation) and how many ampères it wil be able to supply (wire section and cooling). Hence the volt*ampère VA.
