This is math. When you think of frequency and wavelength, don't think of these as being separate from the energy. Try to visualize the wave itself! Then you'll never have to think about it too hard since it'll just make sense. So if we pretend our wave is really a hyper child jumping around with a lot of energy then we can pretend this line is his path jumping across the room|dw:1394099597896:dw| If he's got a lot of energy, he'll jump very frequently, just all the time. Similarly, high energy waves have a high frequency and it's really not any different at all. So what's a wavelength? That's just how long he travels before jumping again. So the more energy he has the shorter distance he's going to travel between jumps, so low energy waves have longer wave lengths.
