OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

Use the triangle at the right. Find the length of the missing side. Is this right?? 1. a = 16, b = 63 a^2 + b^2 =c^2 162 + 632 = x2 256 + 3969 = x2 √4225 =√ x2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes but the last one now u just it square it to get the final answer

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

thanx:)

OpenStudy (phi):

you don't show the triangle. Just to be clear, you did it correctly as long as the unknown side is the hypotenuse (which is the side opposite the 90 degree angle) the final step is sqr(4225)= x or x= 65

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

OpenStudy (phi):

that shows that "c" (the hypotenuse) is the unknown side (because they show that a and b are the "legs" ) so you did it correctly. The final answer (use a calculator to simplify sqr(4225)) is c=65

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

a=16, b=63

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

ok:) thanx:) i thought so i did it correctly:)

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

i have another question...whats the square root of 91??

OpenStudy (phi):

9*9= 81 10*10= 100 91 is between 81 and 100 so sqr(91) is between 9 and 10

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

thanx:)i appreciate your help:)

OpenStudy (phi):

type sqrt(91)= into google to get a decimal approximation
