The text below was written in 1918: "I believe, Your Honor, in common with all Socialists, that this nation ought to own and control its own industries. I believe, as all Socialists do, that all things that are jointly needed and used ought to be jointly owned—that industry, the basis of our social life, instead of being the private property of a few and operated for their enrichment, ought to be the common property of all, democratically administered in the interest of all…" According to Eugene Debs, what is the fundamental principle of socialism? Industry should be owned communally rather than privately. All living beings are equal and deserve the same rights and privileges. The order of things cannot last forever; there is a fundamental change to society on the horizon. The minority population will one day become the majority.

He believed that the entire nation should control and own it's industries rather than just a few people owning and operating an industry. It says right in the text "instead of being the private property of a few and operated for their enrichment, ought to be the common property of all" -which gives away the answer. B. All living beings are equal and deserve the same rights and privileges. - While this is true, it isn't what he meant completely. C. The order of things cannot last forever; there is a fundamental change to society on the horizon. - This should just be automatically eliminated because it has nothing to do with anything. D. The minority population will one day become the majority. - This is another one of those automatic eliminations. xD I'm going to go with A, as it clearly states in the text.
