Windows API/Windows Memory questions. What is the difference between a modified pagelists and a standby pagelists? How does 'Working Set Replacement' and 'System Working Set Replacement' work? > I know that in a working set replacement, that at the time the memory manager decides whether the process is large enough, if not it gives up pages to make room for new pages. How is this any different than system working set? (I cannot find any documentation explaining anything in MSDN :-/.)

You seem to be referencing this post http://blogs.msdn.com/b/tims/archive/2010/10/29/pdc10-mysteries-of-windows-memory-management-revealed-part-two.aspx?Redirected=true Can I find something here that could help you or did you find nothing useful here? I have a little bit knowledge of OS, so I can try reading to find more.

I'm actually referencing the Windows Sysinternals book, though it doesn't explain the difference between the system working set replacement or the working set replacement. I found my answer on the blog you passed on though :-). It is under Physical Memory Page Lists. Thanks :-).
