it says solve and gragh on a number line & I don't know where to start

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i can't read it

\[|\frac{1}{2}x-1|<2\]?

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Here is my interpretation of what you've typed in: |1\2x-1|<2\[|\frac{ 1 }{ 2x-1 }|<2\] Note that this is quite different from satellite73's interpretation. It'd be better to DRAW something like this, or to use Equation Editor, to present the problem, to reduce the chances that your intentions will be misinterpreted.

OpenStudy (mathmale):

So, @boyon12 , which inequality is the one you meant?

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Don't worry about making a mistake; do give us your input, please. I'm going to make an educated guess and assume that @Satellite73 has interpreted your posting correctly. \[|\frac{ 1 }{ 2 }x-1|<2\] We could remove that fraction (1/2) by multiplying every one of the three terms by 2. Would you do that, please?
