Verify please

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Looks correct to me :)

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Very good :)

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Well look at it like this...you have 2 lines....different y-intercepts...but same slope...these lines are ... ?

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Correct...and do parallel lines ever touch?

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Correct again :)

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

If you would like lol :P

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

I would lol

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

(4,8)?

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Wow, well aren't you a master at this! :)

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

lol

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

What do you get...? :)

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

I got x=-5

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

...Sure? check that one again

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

x=5?

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

There we go...and y = ?

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

whoops I don't know why it reposted that

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

(5,-2)

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Perfect! :)

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

yay

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

(-2,0)

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Correct!

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Haha see you don't need me! :P

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

Ha I'm sure I do.. I still mess up here and there

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

Ah ha @johnweldon1993 I have one I have NO clue on

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

(8,0)

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Right C) and (8,0)

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

No clue

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

lol

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

infinite?

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Mmhmm :)

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

(-1,1)

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Geez you're good :D

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

lol now I'm trying to graph it

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

same line?

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

No...remember if it were the same line our answer wouldn't be (-1 , 1) it would be infinite... 2 different lines...what do you get when you put both equations into y = ... ?

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

Is that right?

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Hmm...not quite...that says that both lines have a negative slope... we have 5x + y = -4 y = -5x - 4 and 2x - y = -3 -y = -2x - 3 y = 2x + 3 Only 1 line has a negative slope...

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

Better? lol

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Much :)

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

good lol

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

yes

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

No...

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

shoot lol

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Haha oh don't tell me you guessed ;P

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

ummm maybe lol

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

I still have a few more things to do before bed so now I'm in rush mode haha I have those word problems from the other day still to do.. more of them

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

I think I did something wrong here

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

No solution?

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

I get a solution:)

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

Duh 0 for x

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

(3,5)

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Right!

OpenStudy (vshiroky):
