OpenStudy (nerdy_3000):

How do you factor 2x^4 + 6x^3-18x^2-54x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2x^2 and -18x^2 can be combined. Which will be -16x^2. So now you have to factor 6x^3-16x^2-54x. All of them have something on common: x. Al of them are also divisible by 2. So divide them all by 2 and take away an x from each value. You would get 2x(3x^2-8x-27). Now factor 3x^2-8x-27. You have to get x^2 by itself so multiply 3 by the last number (-27). Now you have to factor x^2-8x-81.
