The Arctic Ocean contains a lot of freshwater ice in the form of icebergs. What can you conclude about the salinity of water in the Arctic Ocean? a The salinity will be higher than in an ocean with no freshwater ice in the form of icebergs. b The salinity will be lower than in an ocean with no freshwater ice in the form of icebergs. c The salinity will be the same as in an ocean with no freshwater ice in the form of icebergs. d The salinity will sometimes be higher and sometimes be lower than in an ocean with no freshwater ice in the form of icebergs.

I think the best answer is: The salinity will sometimes be higher and sometimes be lower than in an ocean with no freshwater ice in the form of icebergs. But I'm only 80% sure...my reasoning is: 1) When it gets warmer each year some of the freshwater ice will melt and reduce the salinity of the surrounding ocean. 2) When it gets colder some of the freshwater will freeze back into ice increasing the surrounding ocean's salinity (to that higher of an ocean with no freshwater ice).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got that wrong last time

OpenStudy (naturesweetie):

I was thinking of A as well... Hmm you are right about your reasoning though

OpenStudy (naturesweetie):

I think D is what I meant lol whoops

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ty and i think that is the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont know i dont want to get this answer wrong again :

OpenStudy (naturesweetie):

It depends on temperature I would definitely agree.... Though when icebergs do melt many times it does higher the salt content... The icebergs changing form alter and mix the water as well... So yes I would have to say either way... But ugh hmm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

trust me ill tell u wat the answer is i promiss

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its wrong because i searched it up on google its something else :?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i had the same qustine on my test

OpenStudy (anonymous):

plus dont trust wedsites

OpenStudy (anonymous):

look ill get someone

OpenStudy (naturesweetie):

Icebergs are formed from fresh water not salt water for they come from land not the sea... Correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well they are formed when ice meets fresh water

OpenStudy (naturesweetie):

The content of salt in an iceberg is quite low correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:( its not D

OpenStudy (naturesweetie):

Is it A?

OpenStudy (naturesweetie):

Or B or C? haha obviously one of them

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk which one to pick :((((

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok ima pick B i hope i get it right

OpenStudy (naturesweetie):

B?

OpenStudy (naturesweetie):

The icebergs don't pick up a lot of salt but if there is enough it would pick up more than in an ocean with none.. Maybe... Sorry I am just not sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or should i pick c?

OpenStudy (naturesweetie):

C I would pick C... Icebergs do not collect salt for they are salt water? I don't know ugh sorry

OpenStudy (naturesweetie):

Go with C... Hopefully that right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got it wrong its not c or d

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got a 24/25

OpenStudy (naturesweetie):

What is it? Sorry... I had no idea the answer haha we went to every single answer

OpenStudy (naturesweetie):

Nice job though only missed one! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol idk

OpenStudy (naturesweetie):

Sorry that I couldn't be much help....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its ok ima post another question up :)
