Simplify (x - 4)(x2 - 2x - 3) I know it factors out to (x-4)(x-3)(x+1) but I don't know how to multiply from there my answer choices are: x^3 - 6x^2 + 5x + 12 x^3 + 6x^2 - 11x + 12 x^3 + 6x^2 - 11x - 12 x^3 - 6x^2 + 5x - 12 Please help (:

Parth (parthkohli):

Multiplication is the easiest method.\[(x-4)(x^2 - 2x - 3) \]\[= x (x^ 2 - 2x - 3) - 4(x^2 - 2x - 3)\]

so x^3 -2x^2 -3x -4x^2 +8x +12 add like terms and I get x^3 - 6x^2 + 5x +12?

Parth (parthkohli):

You got it fast!
