Can someone help me with the steps PLEASE!!! You are performing two chemistry experiments. The probability that both experiments are successful is 22%. If the first experiment is successful, the probability that the second experiment is also successful is 31%. What is the probability that the first experiment is successful?

@terenzreignz can u help please!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is a question of a conditional probability. Suppose A= probability of 1st experiment being successful B= probability of 2nd experiment being successful So, probability of A given B = P ( \[\frac{P (A and B) }{ P(B) }= 22/31\]

OpenStudy (kitkat16):

Thank you I understand now I was doing it completely wrong. so it is 22/31 22 divided by 31 0.709677 70.9677 70.97%

Yes, right!

OpenStudy (kitkat16):

THANKS!!!!!
