Slope-Intercept? Use the slope intercept form to graph the equation y + 5x = -1... I am having trouble figuring this out.. Use the slope-intercept form to graph the equation y = 7/6x
If anyone can help, that would be great.
is there a picture for the graph?
i'm good at slopes, i just need a picture
Okay, there is no pic for the graph, I'm sorry.. if you can still help me anyway you can, I would appreciate it though.
I'm actually trying to figure out how to graph it out in a picutre.
Oh, okay lets see..
Y+5x=-1 Step 1: rearrange to isolate y Y=-5x-1 From this equation we can find the y-intercept and slope. The slope is the number infront of m. Which is? -5 over 1. This slope means to get from one point on the line to another you must go 5 units to the left and up 1 unit. You are going 5 units to the left because of the - infront of 5. Although there is no 1 written under the -5 we assume there is a 1. If there was number underneath -5 such as 3 instead of going up 1 unit you would be going up 3 units.
From the equation we also know the y-intercept. Which is -1
-1 is known as the b value which the y intercept. Thus the point at which this line intercepts the y-axis is (0,-1)
