My brain is fried from this stuff :( Help!!! A cake shop bakes a variety of brownies. The top-selling brownies are ones with toppings of chocolate chip, walnuts, or both. A customer enters the store. The probability that the customer will pick both toppings is 0.4. What is the probability that they will pick neither the chocolate chip nor the walnut toppings?

OpenStudy (kitkat16):

Assuming the total probability of buying a cookie is 100% or 1. Total probability = Probability of chocolate chip only + Probability of walnuts only + Probability of both + Probability of no toppings 1 = 0.2 + 0.1 + 0.4 + x x = 1 - 0.2 - 0.1 - 0.4 x = 0.4 or 40%

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry x = 0.3 or 30% woops

OpenStudy (kitkat16):

yes it is 0.3 :) I was multiplying and came with up with 0.8 so I need to be adding and then deducting the the two toppings ok Thank you!!!
