true right?

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

This is a tricky question because the sides of a triangle cannot be 2, 4, 6 or 3, 6, 9. Segments with lengths 2, 4, 6 and segments with lengths 3, 6, 9 do not form triangles.

the numbers are there just to give the student an idea of how long each of the sides are. are they similar?

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

If the sides of one triangle are in proportion to the corresponding sides of another triangle, then the triangles are similar. In this case, 3:2 = 6:4 = 9:9, so one set of numbers is the same ratio to the other set of numbers. If these lengths could actually be a triangle, the triangles would be similar.
