METAL FOR WHO EVER CAN HELP ME Dodder (Cuscuta) is a plant that attaches itself to the acacia tree, wraps around it, absorbs nutrients from it, and makes it weak. What kind of an interspecies relationship do the dodder and the acacia share? A.host and commensal, respectively B.host and parasite relationship, respectively C.parasite and host relationship, respectively

OpenStudy (blues):

Remember the definitions I wrote about figuring out which organism benefits, is not affected, or harmed?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea i do but i think its b or c because interspecies relationship do the dodder and the acacia share is parasitism but i can figure it out

OpenStudy (blues):

The dodder is the one that benefits. So it's the parasite. And the tree is the one that suffers so it's the host.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea but all the answers have host in them

OpenStudy (blues):

I'm looking at the last sentence in the question. It says "dodder" and "acacia tree" in that order. And it asks you which one is the host and which is the parasite...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhh my gosh i forgot about that part so the answer would be C right because the dodder comes first so thats parasite and then acacia tree is last so its the host relationship

OpenStudy (blues):

Right. I think it's C. ;)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks your the best

OpenStudy (blues):

As I said, not a prob. ;P
