I hate to say it, but it seems you're just cheating at homework and using very little brain to reason why an answer is correct. I've had very little formal grammar education, but I can tell the answer isn't past. Beaten is past participle, but being used with never it makes it something of present. I'm not entirely sure of correct answer http://www.edufind.com/english/grammar/present_perfect_with_ever_never.php

I'm stating a simple fact in the most polite manner I could. They have been asking questions with a random guess for as long as I can see. Moreover these questions appear to be their homework, and all of them seem to have same pattern. So it'd be better if it could be told why an answer is what it is, and not do just the spoon feeding.
