what are concave and convex polygons ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1395627502317:dw| Convex, regular polygon

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well my drawing isn't regular lool

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You know what, instead of me explaining it, here just read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Convex_and_concave_polygons

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A convex polygon has no angles pointing inwards. More precisely, no internal angle can be more than 180°. If any internal angle is greater than 180° then the polygon is concave. (Think: concave has a "cave" in it)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay and concave are the ones with indents?

OpenStudy (kirbykirby):

Lol. In elementary school, we were taught that concave polygons meant that you could place a mouse inside, and have an observer somewhere in the polygon such that they could not see the mouse. The opposite was true for convex polygons. Very primitive idea for concave polygons lool
