y=3.2

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

why? I got 50?

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

\(y=\frac{k}{x^2}\) let x = 2 and y = 8 \(8=\frac{k}{4}\\k=32 \\so\\y=\frac{32}{x^2}\)let x= .08 \(y = \frac{32}{.08^2}\)

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

32/.8^2=32/.64=50?

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

where is the 4 from?

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

@ganeshie8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[y=2x^2\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

plug in x and you will get y

OpenStudy (vshiroky):

The formula we are given is y=k/x^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The directions says that y is related to x^2 So with y=8 and x=2 we would get 2^2=4 To get to 8 we have to multiply by 2 Thats how we get \[y=2x^2\]
