There's Algebra 9? :O lel

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

Hello and Welcome to OpenStudy! :) we cannot help with tests or quizzes as it would be considered cheating, sorry but most prospective tutors and I would be more inclined to answer you quickly if you'd please post your actual question. then anyone willing to help you will help you. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well I have no clue how to graph... And that's a major problem

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

alright, what are you having trouble with graphing? perhaps I can help :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Stuff like y= -.5x^2

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

for graphs like that, you can plug in numbers for x, and get y values to get coordinate points that way. do you know what I mean? like when you plug in 2 for x y = (-0.5)(2)^2 = -0.5 * 4 = -2 so a point on the graph would be (2, -2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But how do you know what to plug in?

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

you would/should just plug in numbers you feel comfortable with (unless otherwise specified) so -4, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 4 would all work :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, Now a different question, once it's graphed how could you find the domain and range?

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

domain is how far left or right it goes range is how far up or down it goes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oooh....

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

Jigg jigg, you could have just said the domain is the x, and the range is the y >.>

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how would I find a solution to something like Y= -4x^2+7x-8 what equation would I use?

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

tHe_FiZiCx99 you didn't even fan me >.> learningrose: if by solution you mean zeros then 0 = -4x^2 + 7x - 8 which you would factor
