Atticus is a rather slightly optimistic character. He tends to see the good in people, and even when he knows they did something wrong, he listens to their side of the story. So, yeah. I can definitely see where he's coming from, and I understand how he feels, but I would disagree with his opinion, because the townspeople were not very nice....

What other incidents in the novel did the author present in both a positive and negative light? Why do u think she did this, instead of branding specific incidents or ppl as being either good or eveil? Which manner of portrayal do u prefer?

i don't really remember what incidents... i read it quite a while ago... but I prefer the way the author presented it, with both good and bad... so you kinda put the story into perspective.
