WHY YOU DO THIS TO ME DX http://prntscr.com/34u9pb
The Ambie Reconstruction program. Either you didn't re-apply or you weren't accepted if you did. Sorry! :(
It's okay dude. You might survive this trauma.
Awwwww. Carniel, did you apply?
^ Yeah, reapply! You were one of my favorite ambassadors previously... :-)
By the way, @Preetha, when's the next round of ambassadors?
@Carniel Did you miss the party for the change? http://openstudy.com/study#/updates/52ed287ae4b0a362a894dc68 @dumbsearch2 Probably June. Depend on if we feel we need to tweak the process a lot more or not. I am certainly finding some flaws in the way parts of the lessons are put forward, so I will do a little adjustment there. Mostly some pre-info goals.
@e.mccormick And preetha assigned you to make these videos, as I understand it? :-)
No, she assigned me to do training because I know a bit about the key topics because of what I have been trained in and done. I just happen to also know how to do videos. Not like an expert, but well enough for this. So I am tutoring on key aspects of communications and business.
That is great. Ever thought about a Skillshare course?
We are hijacking poor Carniel's question a bit here, so I'll try to keep this on topic. The ambi program had gone adrift a little. There was less formal organization and some of the older ambassadors have moved on. This sort of thing caused me to comment to Preetha about some issues I saw. Hero, Thomaster, and some others had also noted places where improvement could be made. A team was formed from this group of people: The Ambassador Management Team. We are rebuilding the Ambassador program from the very basics on. There is some carryover in ideas from the original, but we want more clear policies, goals, and training. I ended up chairing that group, but that basically means I get to collect all the input and bring it together. I really have no more or less authority than any of the other moderators doing this. We also have some admin input in the management team, which is great. It lets us find out what OS wants and we formulate our input based on that. Part of this whole process is what caught Carniel by surprise. We retired the old program. I did look at several possible ways to train, including open classes and things like P2Pu, Skillshare, the open version of Blackboard, and more. In the end, I decided that some of the topics need to be kept close and others we wanted to be fully open. None of those platforms had that odd mix. So we decided on using OpenStudy for the open parts and Yammer for the closed.
Cool. I was aware about the change beforehand, of the ambassadors having to reapply. I had also commented on the threads saying that the amby program needed revision. I love how you take it so seriously! It's awesome to see... :) Sounds very organized. Anyhow, great work, you and your team...
@Preetha I couldn't I didn't come back until afterwards :\ I feel so naked.... @e.mccormick There was a party D:?
Yes, we wanted to say thanks to the Ambassadors in the original program as it was closed and the new one was opened.
