Which statement correctly describes the end behavior of y = x (x - 2)3 (x -4) (x-1) A) The graph rises to the left and falls to the right. B) The graph falls to the left and rises to the right. C) The graph rises to the left and rises to the right. D) The graph falls to the left and falls to the right

Is the equation y = x (x - 2)^3 (x -4) (x-1) or y = 3x (x - 2) (x -4) (x-1)?

the front one

Either way, you can figure it out by "plugging in" infinity. As the graph approaches positive infinity, you can see the y-value becomes infinitely positive. This means that the graph rises to the right. As the graph approaches negative infinity, you can see that the y-value because infinitely positive as well (as negative x negative x negative x negative = positive). This means that it rises to the left as well.

*becomes infinitely positive

A plot from Mathematica is attached.
