What number should be added to the expression x2 + 6x to change it into a perfect square trinomial? A.3 B.6 c.9 D.12

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

you would take the coeficient attached to the x divide it by 2 and square it For Example: for x^2 + 8x you would take 8 8 / 2 = 4 4^2 = 16 so perfect square would be x^2 + 8x + 16

To complete your perfect square try dividing your 6 that you have by 2 then squaring it so 6/2 then ^2 and then add that to your equation so 2x+6x+(6/3)^2 would be your answer
