Matrices question: X+2y=3 3x+6y=9 Answer: x=3-2k, y=k
ok
? I want an explanation pertaining to the answer if I wasn't clear...... -.-
You say this is a matrix question, so you're taking a course in linear algebra? If you want an explanation at how to get this answer, you might want to understand the concept of linear dependence, or better formulated linear independence. However, by focussing your eyes on the equations you should see that the second line of equations is three times the first line.
Which basically means that you are solving a 1 by two system, it has infinitely many solutions, you can substitute for instance \(y=k \in \mathbb{R}\) and your result follows
I'm taking a vectors and calculus course and thanks for the explanation!
