what is the csc5400

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is 5400 in rad or degrees?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im not sure it asks to find the exact value of csc5400

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know that 5400/15=360, so am i looking for csc360 or csc0??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Usually, if degrees are not given, it means the number is in rads. However, it the number of big, such as 5500, that usually means degrees to me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok then its probably degrees

OpenStudy (anonymous):

csc(5400 degrees) = undefined, just as csc(360 degrees) is also

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok so is any trig function of 360 degrees undefined?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No. sin(360 degrees) = 0 cos(360 degrees) = 1 tan(360 degrees) = 0 csc is undefined because csc is 1/sin. 1/0 is undefined

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how come 1/0 isnt 1?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You cannot divide by 0, it is a basic rule of math. If you do, you are basically destroying reality and get sucked up in a black hole or something :)
