Which of the following is used as evidence that the universe began with the big bang? A. craters on the moon B. leftover energy in the universe from the event C. the force of gravity D. the existence of atoms

OpenStudy (chris911):

I think C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think D) cos it is said that matter didn't exist till the moment big-bang wasn't there

OpenStudy (anonymous):

None exactly, its generally observation of the asymmetry between matter and antimatter and the continuous shift in distances (expansion) of our universe which needed the conclusion that it must have started from something smaller... When the background radiation was mapped over a period of time, we came very close to estimating the variation in temperature and distribution of matter in the universe, about 380000 years after the big bang (correct me if im wrong) and that told us that unlike our expectations, the universe wasnt as dense and the light rays which weren't able to escape the dense plasma... The spectrum was shifted over time to what we call background radiation. But if i really had to say, id put my money on B... But it could also be C, but the universe is still expanding... So id say B

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Because the background radiation we detect is essentially, energy...

OpenStudy (ikram002p):

i think its B too

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Shizen, it can't be D in any way. Existence of atoms do not signify anything because we can't trace the data provided by their existence to any conclusion.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The force of gravity is a demonstration of existence of higgs boson and classical physics working right :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well... thats even true... even I was confused with the B and D since A and C can't be true for sure..! But your explanation cleared my doubt...:D... just looked at your comment now... thank you :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Haha welcome :D

:D
