someone please reply! ill fan you. how do erosion, nutrient depletion, and desertification damage or destroy soil?

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

We'll start by looking at the definitions of each word. Erosion is the process of eroding or being eroded (or worn away) by wind, water, or other natural agents. Nutrient depletion is reduction of essential nutrients ( through plant uptake and removal of plant residues, or through leaching) to a level at which they become unavailable for further uptake. Desertification is the process by which fertile land becomes desert, typically as a result of drought, deforestation, or inappropriate agriculture.

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

So erosion basically wears away the soil or the wind blows it away until it is usless to plants and is eventually blown into a water system. Nutrient depletion damages the soil enough so that no (or barely any) plants can gain nutrients from it. Desertification removes any moisture from the soil making it very difficult for plants to grow.

I hope that helped!! =^_^=
