Does anyone know this one? I think it is C

A parallelogram has two pairs of congruent sides, as I told you. In other words, the opposite sides have to be the same length. So, can you set up an equation with the given expressions?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not to well aha I just started learning this stuff

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

You know about multistep equations?

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

Where you have a variable on both sides?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

Ok. So, we said opposite sides are equal right? We can set these two expressions equal to each other: \[x + 15 = 3x + 5\]

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

Can you solve for x? Get all the x terms to one side. Get all the constant numbers to the opposite side. Do some division to get x by itself.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok so would x=5, NM=20, and OL=20?

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

Um...Yes, you are exactly right. Good job :D
