What are the intercepts of the equation? Graph the equation. -3x + 4y = -12

OpenStudy (richyw):

the line x = 0 is along the y axis, and the line y = 0 is along the x axis.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im still confused...

OpenStudy (richyw):

ok so to find the y intersect, this means you would set x=0 and solve for y. To find the y intercept, you set y=0 and solve for x.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to find the intercepts you have to make the other one =0 so when finding the y intercept, make x=0 in that case it would be 4y=-12 if you solve that you will get -3 when finding the x intercept, make y=0 then you get -3x=-12 solve and youll get 4

OpenStudy (richyw):

you shouldn't give away the answers ^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you graph it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

your x line is the horizontal line, and the y line is the vertical line, graph from there
