I have a question for anyone that's taken either AB or BC AP Calculus?
Do I have to simplify really tedious problems or can I leave it in this form?
It's an integration problem, could I just leave the answer (if it was an answer to a free response) as the part where the u is substituted back in \[\Large u=\sqrt{x}-3\] btw
this is tedious? you should see some of the annoying integrals to come this one is the essence of brevity
^ Haha isn't THAT the truth!
So is that a yes or a no?
Great, banter then leave.
At the start of my AP Calc AB year, I was told any algebraic simplification beyond the answer with Calculus steps completed would be unnecessary and the unsimplified final answer would be sufficient. So, after you back-substituted u = sqrt(x) - 3, I would call that a good stopping point there.
^ That is, as long as the question didn't specifically ask for a simplified answer of some sort.
Thanks
