Does the point (- 2,- 4) lie on the graph of 2y - 6x = 4? Explain.

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

plug in y = -4 and x = -2 into your function and see if they fit.

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

2(-4) - 6(-2) = ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you explain example

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

I have replaced values of y and x by -4 and -2 if you work out the above wou'll see that it comes to -8 +12 = 4 which is = RHS of the formula therefor the poin (-2,-4) is on the graph

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 4 my answer

OpenStudy (cwrw238):
